Admissions Requirements

WMI Registration Due Dates

For current students, completed Registration, Enrollment Agreement and full tuition balance are due two weeks before the first day of the semester. If payment is by financial aid, tuition it is due upon receipt of such financial aid, otherwise a $20/course administrative fee for late enrollment and 1% late charge for late payment will be assessed monthly on the unpaid balance.

Educational Requirements

Admission requirements for the Professional Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program include satisfactory completion of at least two academic years (sixty semester credits or ninety quarter credits) at the baccalaureate level in an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This education must include appropriate preparation for graduate-level work. Certification in a medical profession requiring at least the equivalent training of a registered nurse or a physician's assistant is also acceptable. There are no coursework pre-requisites for admission to the institute.


English Language Competency

English language competency must be required of all students seeking admission to the program taught in English.

This may be satisfied by scoring at least 61 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet based test (iBT) which also requires a minimum speaking exam score of 26 and a minimum listening exam score of 22, or a level 6 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam, or the student must have completed a two year (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits)  baccalaureate  level  education  in  an  institution accredited  by  an  agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or from an equivalent English language institution in another country.

Applicants who do not satisfy this requirement may be considered for admission with English as a second language, but they must satisfy the proficiency requirement in English before beginning the clinical experience.

 

Identification Documents

As required by U.S. federal regulations, all international applicants are required to submit a copy of their passport identification pages, or a copy of their national identification card if a passport is not available.

 

Transfer Students

We accept transfer credits from TCM schools.  Please fill out a transfer credit form if you have attended another school.
